Privacy Policy

This website is a single page with our address, our hours and a mailing list signup. We keep the data collection to what that requires. This policy explains exactly what is collected, who receives it, and how to tell us to stop.

1. Who we are

This website, thesilverlakelounge.com, is operated by Well Wishes Silverlake OpCo LLC, doing business as The Silverlake Lounge ("we", "us", "our"). We are the business responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

2. California Notice at Collection

This section is the notice required by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"). We provide it at or before the point of collection.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose that would give you a right to limit that use. We do not knowingly collect or share the personal information of anyone under 16 years of age.

Retention. We keep mailing list records until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and then remove them within 30 days. Advertising and analytics identifiers are retained by the vendors named below according to their own retention periods, which are generally between 90 days and 24 months.

3. What we collect, in plain terms

If you join the mailing list

We collect the email address you type in and the fact that you ticked the consent box. That information goes to Loops, the email platform we use to send our mailing list. We use it to email you about shows, events and news from the bar. You can unsubscribe from any email we send, at any time, using the link in that email.

If you just visit the page

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic request information in order to serve the page and to protect the site from attacks and abuse. This is strictly necessary to operate the website and happens whether or not you consent to anything else.

Advertising and analytics tools, which only run if you consent

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok provide tracking tools, commonly called pixels, that report back when someone visits our site. We keep these available so we can measure the effect of any advertising we run for the bar or its shows. Campaigns come and go, so we ask for your consent on the basis that they may be used at any time.

These tools do not load and do not run on this website unless you give consent by choosing "Accept" in the banner. If you choose "Decline", if you ignore the banner, or if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the pixel scripts are never loaded and no data is sent to Meta or TikTok by this website. The tools we use, once consent is given, are:

Under the CCPA, letting these platforms receive information about your visit in order to target advertising counts as "sharing", even though we receive no money for it. That is why we ask first and why we give you the controls in the next section.

4. Your choices and how to use them

The consent banner

The first time you visit, you are asked whether to allow the advertising tools. Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary loads until you answer. You can change your answer at any time by selecting Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of any page. Your choice is stored in your own browser, so you may need to set it again on a different browser or device, or if you clear your browsing data.

Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat that as a valid instruction to opt out of the sharing of your personal information, we do not load the advertising pixels, and we do not show you the banner. You do not need to do anything else.

Your rights under California law

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

We will acknowledge within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need a permitted extension. To verify your identity we will normally ask you to confirm the request from the email address concerned, and we will not ask for more information than we need. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission signed by you.

California Shine the Light

California Civil Code section 1798.83 lets California residents ask a business once a year about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not make those disclosures. You may confirm this by writing to the email address above.

Marketing email

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we will remove you. We only add an address to the mailing list when someone submits the form on this site and ticks the consent box.

5. Who we disclose information to

We disclose personal information only to service providers that help us run the bar's website and mailing list, and to the advertising platforms named above where you have consented. The recipients are:

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or where necessary to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect the safety of our staff and guests. We do not otherwise disclose or trade your information.

6. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the very limited information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Third party links

This site links to Instagram and to a Google Drive folder holding our brand assets. Those services are operated by other companies under their own privacy policies, and this policy does not apply once you leave our site.

8. Children

This site is not directed to children. Guests must be 21 or over to enter the venue. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, for example if we add a new advertising tool, we will reset the consent banner so you are asked again before anything new runs.
