The Silverlake Lounge wants everyone to be able to find our hours, our address and our mailing list, and to be able to come to the bar. If anything on this site or at the venue gets in your way, tell us and we will fix it or find another way to get you what you need.

Our commitment

We are committed to making thesilverlakelounge.com accessible to people with disabilities. We treat accessibility as an ongoing obligation rather than a one time project, and we review this site against our conformance target whenever we make a change to it.

Conformance target

Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines are the standard commonly applied to public accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and they explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.

We consider this site to be substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Substantially conformant means the site meets the standard across the great majority of its content, and that we are actively working on anything that does not.

What we have done

Measures we have taken on this site include:

• Text and background colors across the site meet or exceed the WCAG AA contrast minimum of 4.5 to 1 for body text.
• The mailing list form field has a programmatic label, so screen readers announce what it is rather than relying on placeholder text alone.
• Success and error messages on the form are announced to screen readers when they appear.
• Every control on the site can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and the focus indicator is clearly visible.
• Images carry meaningful alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
• Headings and landmarks are used in a correct, meaningful order so the page can be navigated by structure.
• The page can be zoomed and text resized without loss of content or function, and pinch to zoom is not disabled.
• The page works without color as the only means of conveying information.

Known limitations

We want to be straightforward about where we are not yet where we want to be:

• Content on other companies' platforms. Our Instagram feed and our brand assets folder on Google Drive are hosted by other companies, and we do not control their accessibility. If you cannot access something we have linked to, contact us and we will send you the content directly in a format that works for you.
• Third party embedded content. Our mailing list signup submits to an outside email platform. We have made the form itself accessible, but we do not control that platform's own pages.

Accessibility at the venue

The bar has been at 2906 W. Sunset Blvd since 1938, and the building has the characteristics of its age. If you are planning a visit and want to know what to expect regarding entry, seating, restrooms, the stage area or anything else, please contact us before you come. We will describe the space honestly, tell you what we can accommodate, and make arrangements to help where we can.

Alternative ways to reach us

If any part of this website is not accessible to you, you do not have to use it. We will give you the same information and the same service by email or in person. Contact us and we will:

• Tell you our current hours, programming and events.
• Add you to or remove you from our mailing list.
• Provide any content from this site in an alternative format on request, at no cost to you.
• Answer questions about visiting the venue.

Feedback, and how quickly we respond

We welcome your feedback, and reports of barriers are genuinely useful to us. If you encounter a problem, please tell us what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what happened, along with the browser and any assistive technology you were using if you know it.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 3 business days and to give you a substantive response, including what we intend to do and by when, within 10 business days. If a fix will take longer than that, we will tell you why and give you a target date, and we will provide the information you were after by another means in the meantime.

How we assess this site

We assess accessibility by self evaluation, which includes reviewing the site's code against the WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria and checking color contrast ratios and keyboard operability. This statement was prepared on August 11, 2026 and is reviewed whenever the site changes. We have not yet commissioned an independent third party audit, and we will say so here if that changes.

Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, we would like the chance to put it right first, so please tell us. You also retain the right to contact the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division or the California Department of Rehabilitation. Contacting us first does not affect any of your legal rights.
